October Meeting

We have basically used this blog to announce upcoming quilt events.  We have decided to try to post summaries from our monthly meetings.  We will try our best to do just that and we will also try to take pictures at our meetings to share here on our blog, because we all love pictures.

Our bake sale/flea market table was a big success at the Franklin House/Quilt Tour event.  We hope to be there again next year, the second weekend in October.

We are presently raising funds for speakers in the future.  We do not have anything scheduled yet, but we are working on ideas.

Franklin, Pa

The NWPA quilt study group will have a table of baked goods and quilt flee market items at the Franklin Preservation Society first quilt show and house tour Saturday, October 16th.  Any money we raise will be used to bring in a speaker in the future or group tour.  I will be giving a presentation on Quilts from the Civil War period.  Come and enjoy this great, new event.

Sweet Star Quilt from our first "Quilts With A Past" event

QUILTS WITH A PAST II
Do you have a special quilt you would like to know more about? Let our “quilt detectives” help you discover it’s secret past. Bring it along and spend a day at the Baldwin Reynolds House Museum. The day will start with a lunch prepared specially for the event. After lunch, the quilt discovery will begin. Each quilt will be presented to the group and it’s
history revealed by our experts. Not only will you find out more about your treasure but you will get to see 39 other fine quilts that may never be seen in public again.
